BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Bill is an enrolled member of the Seneca
Nation of Indians. He is a member of the Hawk Clan who he
represents as a Faith keeper of the Coldspring Longhouse on
the Allegany Indian Reservation in NY Sate.
Bill is used as a living resource by many
museums and colleges in the subject are of native American
Culture. He is the singer and group leader of a Seneca Dance
Group called the Allegany River Indian Dancers. This dance
group has performed all over the United States and Canada
as well as in Germany. He also has traveled and performed
as well as been a consultant for the American Indian Dance
Theatre. He taught the group Iroquois style social dances
and was featured in the P. B.S. special "Dances for a
New Generation."
In the summer time Mr. Crouse is in demand
as a master of ceremonies, a singer and performer at the many
Intertribal Pow wows held in the U.S. and Canada.
He is currently employed as the Seneca Language
and Culture teacher in Salamanca Middle School. He is a free
lance artist and curriculum developer. He resides on the Allegany
Reservation with his wife and five children.
Bill is dedicated to and has made a life's
work of preserving and teaching Native American Culture through
his singing, dancing, storytelling and artwork.
